The iPad satisfies one “need” I’ve had for a while: a good portable arXiv/PDF reader. As of now if I’m on the go I have to either use the small iPhone screen or print everything out. But is that worth the money? And what else is it particularly good for? A cool product, sure, but I have a tough time seeing how I’d fit it into my life.
Anyway, I’m now much more grateful for my iPhone. It’s just like an iPad, except it makes calls and fits in my pocket 🙂
