About Joanna

Joanna is a postdoctoral associate at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky. She studies very high-redshift galaxies in the hopes of learning something about the reionizaiton history of the Universe. She completed her PhD at Pennsylvania State University, where she surveyed emission line galaxies from the nearby to the very early Universe.

In addition to curating content for AstroBetter, Joanna continues to help out over at Astrobites, a graduate student-run blog with daily paper summaries and other useful information for people interested in astronomy. Although no longer part of the regular author rotation, you can read her posts here.

When she’s not contemplating the mysteries of the universe, she likes to do karaoke and fiddle around with Python.
